Life

Sometimes life sucks. And sometimes it is great. Today it was a little of both. I have my wonderful sisters here with their kids and it is awsome to have all of the kids together. Of course with 4 kids under the age of 3 we were up early! Oh well, I guess that is just part of being a mom. A great part of my day was taking my daughters to pre-school with Aaron. It is always nice to get a few minutes together without the kids or distractions. A sucky part was him having to leave for baseball right after we got home. Such is life. Its great that Rylan is hopefully going to be able to hear soon! It sucks getting the estimate from the doctor as to how much it is going to cost. It's great getting to cook for my sisters, it sucks that my husband wasn't home to enjoy it also. Anyway, those are just some thoughts on my day.

Side note, its GREAT to have friends like Taylor, Ashley, and Kamille, but is sucks that I don't get to see them often.

ER visit

Well we made our first trip to the ER last night. Ry had been throwing up for a couple days and last night her fever went up to 105.4! Wow thats high. We had called the doctor Friday and Saturday and thought she had some sort of stomach bug. They told us to call back if she was still throwing up after 24 hours. Ry had slept most of the day Saturday, when she was awake, she was throwing up or dry heaving. We thought she had made a turn for the better Saturday night, when she actually started smiling again. She went to bed with no problems. Then at 9 she let out and ear piercing scream. I went and got her and she was burning up and as soon as I brought her to the living room she started throwing up again. We took her temp and it was 105.4. We called the doctor again and they sent us to the ER at Cooks Childrens Hospital in Ft. Worth. We woke Lynlee up and took her to a neighbors house for the night. Then Aaron, Rylan and I headed up to the hospital. They got Ry in pretty fast. By the time we got there her fever had gown down to 103. They gave her some meds for the fever and to stop her from throwing up anymore. They ran some tests and found that she has a urinary tract infection. They gave her a shot of some serious antibiotics and a prescription for some for her to take for the next 10 days. We had to stay there until she had something in her stomach for awhile and didn't throw it up. We managed to make it that far and headed home. She seems to be doing ok today. She threw up again this afternoon and her fever returned, but I got the motrin in her and it brought it back down. She is sleeping now and seems to be on the mend, hopefully! We go to the doctor tomorrow to check everything out since she got sick again today. She is a tough girl so she should be good.

Ry's Hearing Test

Well as many of you know, Rylan had trouble passing her hearing test when she was born. We have seen two audiologists and an ENT doctor. We went back this Wednesday for the sixth or seventh test and she still did not pass. There is fluid in both ears that could be causing her to not pass the hearing test. At any rate, the ENT doctor said that with that much fluid in her ears, she isn't hearing the way she needs to. It is as if everything she hears is muffled. So in April she will go to Cooks Children's Hospital and get tubes put in both ears. The doctor said it takes about 2 minutes for him to do his part and she wouldn't be out for that long at all. We will only be at the hospital for a couple hours and she won't know anything went on. The doctor said she will be her normal self when we leave the hospital. The only problem is that now she might hear when Lynlee cries at night! About two weeks after they put the tubes in we will go back to the audiologist and do another hearing test. From there we will have a definate answer to whether or not she has any hearing lost. I personallyl think she is just fine and once we get rid of the fluid she will be good to go. So now you are all updated.

Busy, Crazy Week

Well lets start with my job. For those of you who don't know I teach 8th grade science at Granbury Middle School and I love it! Unfortunatly, we haven't exactly had great TAKS scores the last year, so we are really working to fix that. Anyway, we took a benchmark a couple weeks ago to see how the students were doing and it wasn't good. In fact it was horrible. Its never good to find out all the work you are putting into your job isn't helping the way you think it is. At any rate, I spent the better part of the week working on tutorial schedules for the 100+ students who need more work in science. Staring at a computer screen and trying to place 100 students in the right group with the right teacher, at the right time, is not fun! We did finally get it all worked out but now we have some elective teachers who aren't so happy because they won't see their students for 6 weeks! Let's just say I am REALLY looking forward to May!!

Ok, so that was a general breakdown of my week at school, but I had a very trying day in particular on Tuesday. Tuesday was our Reading TAKS test. I gave the test to 11 students who needed to be basically away from all other students and distractions. They were put into mini rooms where they couldn't see anyone else. At any rate, it was a VERY LONG DAY! After school, I went to pick up the girls and I locked my keys in the car! Again. I had done it before a couple weeks ago. Luckily, Lynlee's teacher was sweet enough to go to the baseball field and get a key from Aaron. So Lynlee, Rylan, and I took Ms. Kayla to dinner. When we finally got home, both girls were fussy because they were off their schedules. But such is life I guess.

Aaron has been super busy with baseball this week. He had another tournament this weekend, so he hasn't been home basically since Wednesday. I did get to go watch his game last night because his mom is here for the weekend and she stayed with the girls. It was nice to have a kid free evening. I went up to Ft. Worth and did some shopping then made it back in time for Aaron's last game of the night. They ended up tying 5-5 when time ran out. He did admit tonight that he is actually tired of baseball! I thought that day would never happen. I'm sure he will love it again by Monday, but first he will need some sleep.

Typical Saturday

Well thus far it has been a typical Saturday. Aaron left early this morning for a tournament in Burleson. They won! Thats always good. Me and the girls have been cleaning house and doing laundry. Like I said typical Saturday around our house. Evan, Aaron's brother, is here this weekend. He got up this morning and went to Aaron's game out in the 30 something degree weather! He is nuts. There is no way I would sit outsite for a baseball game in that kind of weather. Did I mention that it is also VERY windy? That is dedication. Right now we are all taking a little break from the work. Evan is back and chilling on the couch. Lynlee just went down for her quiet time and Ry is playing in her exersaucer. Thats about it for now.

Ok seriously a while!

Ok, I'm going to try again at this whole blogging thing. I wasn't so hot at it before, but I figure it's worth a try again. Plus for so many of you this is the only way you are going to be able to know whats going on in the Stone family. So here we go again.

Aaron is full time into baseball season. We don't get to see him much, but we value the time we get together. Lynlee is trying to adjust to her dad not being home much, and that adjustment is tough on both of us! Lets just say she is definatly two most days! She is such a helper around the house. She loves to fold towels and oddly enough, Aaron's underwear. Of course half the time she puts it on and then folds the rest of it. Very funny! She loves to sing in the car. Her latest song is Jesus Loves Me. She knows all the words! So smart. She is so helpful with Rylan. Sometimes I think she thinks Ry is her baby. The other day I picked her up from school and the teacher told me the cutest story. Lynlee was playing with a baby doll. She had put the baby 'night night'. She covered her up and was 'reading' her a story. Then she laid down next to her baby and said a prayer with it. Then she laid down with her baby. I thought that was adorable. I love two year olds! It does remind me to always be on my best behavior because she sees everything! She also repeats everything. She has been potty training and we always tell her that she is a big girl and wears big girl panties now. Well the other day we are sitting at the table for breakfast, and she turns to Aaron and tells HIM that HE is a big girl and wears big girl panties! I laughed so hard that I almost spit out my milk. Like I said, gotta love the two year olds.

So, I will do what I can to keep this updated. I'll shoot for two a week for starters and see where that gets me. Remind me if I forget.

I know its been awhile

Ok everyone. I know it has been awhile since I last posted anything. We have been a little busy. We finally got moved to Granbury about two weeks ago. We had a lot of help so it went pretty fast. We still haven't sold the house in Friona, but we did find someone to rent it on a month to month basis. But there are three couples who want to go look at it next week, so keep your fingers crossed that one of them will want to buy it. The move has been a little tough on me. I guess it just takes me longer to adjust than most people. I'm sure once school starts it will get better. Lynlee is getting so big. She climbed up the recliner today to sit with me. This was a new trick for her, so now we have to make sure she doesn't climb things when we aren't around. We are still looking for a sitter for her here, but we are praying we can find someone at church. Well thats it for now.
